چکیده

The effect of the location of particles within the plasma volume on the LIBS signal for single-particle measurements is investigated. Three methods of collecting plasma emission are compared to determine the influence of plasma imaging on particle hit detection rates and signal precision. Imaging larger regions of the plasma volume improves particle detection rates. Spatial integration of the signal from the entire plasma volume tends to reduce uncertainty in the signal caused by variability in the location of particles within the plasma. Additionally, the use of spatially resolved measurements is found to maximize the particle detection efficiency. The use of spatially resolved measurements gives information about the location of particles within the plasma, which

Development of Laser Diagnostics for in Situ Measurements of Entrained Particles in Recovery Boilers

As part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Industrial Technologies (OIT) Industries of the Future (IOF) Forest Products research program, two different laser diagnostic techniques have been implemented in pulp mill recovery boilers to provide important information on entrained particles. One technique, based on single-particle scattering of a low-power, continuous-wave (cw) laser ...

High Performance Liquid Chromatographic Estimation of Drotaverine Hydrochloride and Mefenamic Acid in Human Plasma

The present work describes a reverse phase HPLC method for the quantitation of drotaverine hydrochloride and mefenamic acid in human plasma. Organic solvent system used for liquid extraction composed of dichloromethane, and isopropyl alcohol in the ratio 80:20 (v/v). The compounds were separated on a Thermo BDS Hypersil C8 (25.0 cm×4.6 mm, 5 µm particle size) column in isocratic mode with a mix...

Self-Consistent hot spot tracing particles by kinetic simulations: With the emphasis on Cusp particle entry

One of the most important advantages of particle simulation as compared to fluid simulation is the capacity for working with and tracing particles. In particle simulations, the test particle method is usually used to get some idea of the behavior of plasma or other substances. In this method, first, a small number of particles are injected into the frame of static electromagnetic fields. Then, ...
